Drinks and canapés prior to the screening. The exact time and full details are to follow. In the meantime, SAVE THE DATE. Buy your frock! And put your artwork from your portfolio into the AS or A2 folder in the Media Drive on s-mac-01 ASAP. |
BFI AS STUDY DAY
The AS study day is on. The map shows where we are going. All payments must be into finance ASAP.
Remember that you need to make your own way there. Plan your journey with an arrival time of 10am, I will register you at that time. If you are late you will get a detention for the following day. I will be leaving school at 9am. The Study day begins at 10.30am and finishes at 3.30pm. There are places to eat in the area but they are quite pricey so I would recommend that you bring a pack lunch. I'm sure that I don't need to remind you that the study day is a vital part of your learning and that of others, behaviour at the venue must be impeccable and respectful. Ensure that you have a notebook and pens and possibly a recording device for audio - your phone will probably be fine. |

2016-17 - A LEVEL AND AS LEVEL TRIPS/VISITS AND STUDY DAY
I am organising study days for A level at present.
Currently, I am confirming that on the 26th for January the A2 students will have a study day at the BFI on Postmodernism, this will be from 9 to 3.30 and as it is 6th form parents evening we will be returning directly to school afterwards. The trip is mandatory and costs £10 for the day. Travel will need to be arranged and lunch. It will be extremely useful in preparation for your exam next Summer.
I am also organising a study day on the Film Industry for AS students which may be as soon as the 2nd of November. More on this shortly. Cost and timings will be similar to the A2 trip.
You can find out about the BFI study days by following the link below.

The cost is £20 + travel but you can apply for support if you are eligible. I will require an indication of your interest early in September. Last year nearly everyone from AS and A2 went on the trip and came out buzzing.
Also you can subscribe to Media Magazine yourself and get your own copy - highly recommended as well. The cost is £12 for the year and you get 4 invaluable magazines written by professionals, teachers and students to help you do better at AS and A2 Media Studies. |
